there are a lot of names for soda in New Mexico because many people retire there and many people move there for their jobs.

The dip in the graph was caused by 9/11 a terrorist attack on the world trade centers. After which they tsa hightend airline security making it a hassle to travel into the us. These stats can help us explain how events like this effect the economy. Like how the yogurt company caused the little boy to become sick and then sales of that company's yogurt went down dramatically.

Questions with Qusay

1. Was it difficult to learn English? No Not Really, it was difficult at first but it got easier.

2. In what ways have you benefited from learning the language? I am able to communicate with my fellow Americans now.

3. Do you still speak your primary language at home or with family and friends? Why / Why not? Sometimes with Family, we mostly use English at our homes but if I am talking to family in India I will use my primary language.

4. How did you come to go to school in the United States? Well coming to school was not that hard, I came in the first grade over here. Everybody there pretty much accepted me.

5. What are some of the differences between an American school and a school in your home country? We there is not that much difference except that the Indian school uniform is different from John Carroll's.

6. What was the most difficult part of the English language? The most difficult part of learning the language was the grammar part of it.

7. Do you ever accidently start talking in your original language? No, I speak English where i am supposed to.

8. When did you first start learning English? Around the age when I was about 5 years old.

9. Why did you decide to learn English? Well you know i kind of have to talk to the people here so I get to know them better.

10. How often do you get asked to speak in your first language? Well you know i kind of have to talk to the people here so I get to know them better. Well most people at John Carroll asked me to speak in Indian and a couple of my other friends ask from time to time.

11. How long did it take for you to learn English? It took me four months roughly to learn the whole English language, I wasn’t that great but i knew the basics words and stuff.

12. Are there any homonyms in Urdu like we have in English? Like can and can, road and rode, right and write? Well there is none that I know of.

13. Is the Urdu language evolving like the English language? Well yes they are adding new words to it every year and they might change the language a bit occasionally.

14. In Urdu are new slang terms being invented all the time? Yeah that are lot of slag words that you will not find in the Urdu dictionary.

15. Do you have any friends at John Carroll that speak Urdu? Well I have my older brother and I think that’s about it.

16. Do you have any friends out of school that you speak Urdu with? Most of my friends that speak Urdu out of school are in India so i really talk to them that much.

17. When did you completely switch from Urdu to English? I never completely switch I still use both languages equally.

18. Is Urdu the main language in India? Yes Urdu is the main language in India.

19. What part of India is Urdu most prevalent? It is mostly the east side of India but other parts still do speak it like in the south India.

20. How many other languages are in India? India has over 100 languages each state of India has their own language. Also if go to the central India every village in India speaks their own language.

21. Which side of your family is from that country? Both side of my family is from India my mother’s side and my father’s side.

22. What are the some of the hardest things when learning English as a second language? The grammar and sometimes the pronunciation of it.

23. What caused your family to move to the United States? My family thought could make more money if they moved over to America and they were right.

24. What are some of the main differences between America and your home country? Everything is different like everybody in India ride motorcycles and also we rickshaws which is a taxi but will go over everywhere.

25. What is the main religion in your home country? There are lots of Hindus and there is also a lot of Muslims.

26. Are you that religion? No sir I am not.

27. What are some of the differences between an American school and a school in your home country? The classes are a little different.

Chile

Dear journal,

Two days ago, February 27, 2010, at around 03:35 a massive earthquake hit my part of Chile, I am staying in Valparaiso.the earthquake did not effect the whole country considering Chile's coastline stretches 2,700 miles long. This earthquake cause my current home and the high school i am attending for this exchange program. Also the quake lasted a full 3 minuets. When the earthquake started Edwardo my host and I ran out of our apartment and out to the street which is surrounded by small huts as far away from the building as possible.We got out of the building just in time before it collapsed.Chile is divided in to three major classes, the rich live in mansions and the middle class live in apartments, the lower class lives in mud huts.The earthquake was very devastating because in rural areas the construction is not very durable. One reason the houses are not so well built is because in Chile they make almost 70% less then in America. Also in Chile they use more then 70% less oil and electricity then America.

Yesterday, Clean up efforts started around the town and today relief efforts started coming from all over the world. Most efforts in our town came from the United States, where i am actually from. I am coming home for Chile in two weeks and exited to go home but sad to leave my many new friends.Also yesterday I helped rebuild and clean up some of the mud huts near my fallen apartment complex. i liked working with the Chileans towards a common goal. After we worked on building huts we went to a fruit farm, there are many different kinds of farms in Chile.
